Update...at last!!! :)

Finally another opportunity to update here :) I do wish I was able to keep everyone better updated, and Lord willing, we will be getting internet access at our home here next week. But in the mean time, Daniel, the children, and I thank each and everyone of you who keep "checking in on us", encourage us through your sweet comments/emails, through sharing verses from God's Word, and most importantly, through your prayers. We hope that while you've patiently awaited an update, that you haven't worried, but just brought us before our loving Heavenly Father who cares for us so much.
While I cannot say I haven't had times of doubt, discouragement, or worry myself, I can say that without fail, the Lord has encouraged and strengthened my heart over and over again as I read His Word. At times, I truly feel just as Psalmist said in chapter 42...as a deer panting for water, I long after the Lord...to just rest in Him and trust in His love and care.

I'm so thankful to report that our little baby has made it another week hitting what the doctors here tell us is a very important week...24 weeks!! And we continue to pray for many more days and weeks that he will be able to stay safe inside mommy. I'm continuing to bleed, but again, no "major" bleeding this week, and we just thank the Lord as we know He is answering our prayers and the prayers of so many.

Another wonderful answer to prayer...we have found a place to call home while we await this little guys arrival. A couple in our home church offered us a home amazingly affordable. It is close to town/the hospital, is partially furnished (just perfect for our temporary situation...it has a couch, love seat, chairs, table, 2 beds, a dresser, washer/dryer, fridge, and TONS of closet/cupboard space), and we just are so thankful for a place to settle in here. It's so comfortable and we thank the Lord each day for providing this need for us through the kindness of this couple.

We moved and got settled in on Monday (January 5th) and it's been so good to write up and post a chore chart, basic daily schedule, and once again spend our mornings/early afternoons homeschooling. Not only do I feel so much better and accomplish so much more each day when we are organized, but the children are truly happier (and better behaved :) ) too. They enjoy working on their school work and helping around the home and then have so much fun during their free time each day. The weather has been so beautiful this week, and there is a little park 1 block from our home which has been so much fun for everyone. We have visited there most every afternoon and while I sit on the bench holding Eliseo, the children can play on the playground equipment, shoot baskets, dig in the sand, or (their favorite) explore the little creek that runs there.

Thursday (the 8th) morning, at 5 am we said goodbye to Daddy as he got on an airplane to head back home to Mexico for a few days. He's there to spend time with all the people in our church, encourage Brother Macario who has been holding services in Daniel's absence, pay our bills, preach in the village of Jesus Maria, hold services Sunday, and pass out the remaining shoeboxes. He'll fly back Tuesday night (the 13th) and then Lord willing, return again the beginning of February. We appreciate your prayers for him as he travels, that the Lord will keep him safe and bless his time/work there, and protect the children, new little one, and I in Daddy's absence.
When I called to talk with Daniel today, he was out visiting some of the ladies from our church and he passed them his phone so they could talk with me too. Oh how I miss them! Pray that the Lord will especially encourage them in their Christian walk while we are not there ourselves.

I have some pictures I can't wait to share, and some of your questions I look forward to answering once we get a connection at home here (hopefully by Wednesday). I'll answer emails then too (if you are already waiting for a reply, thank you for your patience!) :). Many have asked us for an address where we can receive mail here in the state. I will post one on the top righthand side bar.

Oh....and we are narrowing down a name for this precious little baby boy....we'll let you know soon so you can pray for him by a name other than "Justin Other" :) Because this little guy is certainly not just another baby...He's already been prayed for so much, loved by so many, and the Lord has used him to again bring us closer to Him. Oh, I can't wait to meet him and for you all to "meet" him too!

I will also be praying that God will use this time in the states to pour out His amazing blessings on you and your family. That God will keep those in Mexico in His perfect peace and hands, that they will grow during this time of your absence and that nothing will fall behind. As you already know you have many holding you up in prayer, we are here to share your burden.

  8. Oh, it is so good to hear from you!! It sure sounds like God has provided you with an ideal place to live, for as long as you need to be there! How fun that you could talk to friends in Mexico, when you called Daniel. God sure takes care of all those little details, doesn't He?! Can't wait to hear Baby's name, when you have made a final decision about that. And I will be looking for more frequent updates real soon! Praising God with you, for all He is doing!

I am so happy you have a home away from home where you can keep things as normal as possible.
Let us know if there are things you need while in the states.
You certainly are in a beautiful part of California.

I will continue to pray for that baby to stay inside where he needs/was meant to be :) Glad prayers were answered for a place to call "home", I know that makes everyone feel better. Can't wait for pictures to come and also to know the name of the littlest Lockwood.

  14. Dear Jaynee,

I have not commented yet on your site, but have faithfully checked in on you and prayed for you over the past few months. I initially linked to you through Amy over at Daily Pleasures. Praise the Lord you are doing well! It is so wonderful to see you update once again.

I consulted my midwife recently about help for another friend with placenta previa, and she had two recommendations I would like to share with you. Of course you can take them or leave them as you and Daniel decide. :)

"She can take red raspberry leaf capsules to stop contractions and really beef up on the liquid chlorophyll to help stop any bleeding."

I'm sure you could find these items at a local health food store. I know I have heard the chlorophyll referred to as a natural "blood transfusion" of sorts, and I know it has helped me through 10 pregnancies. (I prefer the mint flavor and use World Organic brand.)

God bless you and your dear family!

    Love and Prayers~

  27. Hi Jaynee,
I can't find an email address for you, but I know you will read this as you moderate the posts that come in.
I see that your p.o. box is in Shasta, and that you are staying somewhere near a park. Where is that park? I'd love to come see you there someday, if you wouldn't mind. Let me know! I would love to visit.

  28. We were so excited to see a post from you. God has really blessed you and like others have said people everywhere are praying for you. Can't wait to hear a name. My 8 year old has a project for Sparks to do. He has to tell about a missionary and tell the name of the family, where they live and how they can be prayed for. He wants to tell about your family. I hope that is OK with you. He thinks your family is great because it has so many boys. It is just basically a poster he has to do. I think he is going to try to draw the kids and put the name under each picture. If it is not OK we wouldn't want to do it but I just wanted you guys to know you were the first ones he thought of. From the Parris family in TN Sammy, Missy, Morgan, Katie, Josiah, Jacob, Sarah and #6 on the way in June. Praying for you, the baby and all!!!

  29. Great to read an update! Continuing to think/pray for your family! The other day, while prepping 3rd/4th grade sunday school lesson, I was reading the meanings of the Disciple's names. Simon (not Simon Peter) was called "The Zealot" and means one of great faith. I made the comment to my husband, the other night, that if we were to "unexpectily" become pregnant in this season of our life (not the easiest), I'd have to choose that name.....and then, I thought of you all.....Faith is such a BIG thing...being sure of what is UNSEEN....Knowing that YES, God is in control, even in the not so "feel good moments" of life. Without FAITH, we're filled with doubt. So, will continue to pray, that as you are on this journey-as your FAITH is being strengthened.....you will be reminded daily, of HIS faithfulness to you....you're amazing in your attitude/approach to each day. Thank you, for being a beautiful example of God's grace...for putting your faith INTO practice....love and prayers, from Sarasota, FL.

  30. Parris Family~
We would not mind at all for your son to include us in his Sparks missionary project. I was in AWANAS for years as a young girl, and the missionary notebooks they had us do were some of my favorite projects ever. I still have them in my box of "memories".
Thank you for your love and prayers...God Bless you.

    Jaynee

  33. Hi Mrs. Jaynee,
It's so good to hear from you. Glad all is going as well as possible for you and baby. Praise the Lord. He is always in control whether our situation is pleasant or not. Glad you made it to 24 weeks. We will be praying you make it on a while longer before the birth. Take good care of yourself and I too, know that chlorophyll is a great blood builder and purifier. You might consider trying it for a while before and after the birth. Hugs to all.
