Welcome! Nuestra Casa Es Su Casa ...Our house is your house

A glimpse into the life of Daniel and Jaynee Lockwood and their 12 precious blessings. Thank you for visiting; we pray that what we share here may always bring glory to our wonderful God and Saviour. May you praise the Lord with us for the great things He has done and continues to do as we serve Him sharing the gospel here in the little town of Cuidad Insurgentes, BCS Mexico. Waiting on the Lord

As you know, the Lord has lovingly allowed another trial to touch our lives. Little Samuel is still in the hospital; he’s still sick, but stable and the doctor tonight said his lungs are sounding a little bit better. We are thankful for the doctors and nurses the Lord has placed here to care for him. Just like we did during my pregnancy, we rest knowing the Lord has Samuel in his ever loving hands.
Either Daniel or I are by Samuel’s bedside day and night (which is why it‘s taken so long for us to update!). I’m grateful for Daniel taking the late night shift as he seems to be able to sleep anywhere…even a cold, hard hospital floor. Though it’s been very tiring physically, the Lord has enabled us to continue with the ministry as well as maintaining most of our schedule at home with the other children. Of course, Daniel and I miss being together as one of us is always here with Samuel while the other is working with the other children. But we pray together often over the phone and happily give up some sleep in the wee hours of the night so we can chat as well.
As you may know or can well imagine, having a sick child is not only physically draining but emotionally hard as well. We have been so blessed to have the love and prayers of so many which I know the Lord hears as He gently under girds us day by day/night by night.
Often times, as we pass through trials, the Lord will give me a special verse or verses to which I can cling. As my mind begins to doubt or fear or as discouragement comes, I say that special verse and let it’s truth fill my heart and mind. How precious is God’s Word! Yesterday, the Lord gave me Psalms 27:14~ “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
I don’t remember how long ago it was that Daniel asked me if I would keep our blog updated. I have always enjoyed writing and am happy to share from my heart what the Lord is doing in our lives as we serve Him here in Mexico. He’s taught us so much, given us wonderful opportunities to share the gospel with those who have never heard, provided for our every need, and carried us through many trials which have caused us to grow in His grace and love Him all the more. We have thanked him for loving us so much to refine us more and more that we may be able to be used by Him. I can’t thank Him enough and through all the difficulties, our hearts overflow with joy each time we see someone come to Christ. We just want the Lord to use our lives to bring glory to His name.
This afternoon, I was sitting by Samuel while sharing some burdens that were heavy on my heart with Daniel. A thought came to his mind that had already crossed my mind as well. He said that maybe it would be best at this time take a break from the blog. We talked a bit and both felt the Lord’s peace over that decision. Right now, I just need to put my whole heart and time into caring for our children and then in the evenings (which is really the only time to use the computer) ….sleep! We’ll will be sure to let you know when Samuel get's back home and will pray about when to continue regular updates.
We are so thankful for those who have blessed us abundantly through emails and comments and most of all, have helped bear our burdens by bringing us before the Lord in prayer. We continue to desire your prayers and during this “break” , please feel free to write us (email or snail mail) anytime. The Lord is so good and faithful.
Love,
Daniel and Jaynee

  2. We will be praying for your family and Samuel. I understand that it is hard to maintain a blog or anything not critical during a crisis. With 3 of our children being high end special needs, we have been there and done that. I hope you all will do a quick update when Samuel is safe and sound.
    Blessings,
    Dawn

  3. I couldn't agree more. Get some rest :-)

I will miss visiting your blog. You have become even dearer to our family as we've prayed for you and followed your ministry and watched each new Lockwood come home :-)

A funny side note~ yesterday I was at the park with the girls and Granton. He was crawling around on the grass and I took my sandals off. I could see inside my sandals. The brand name was 'Jayne'. I smiled, thinking of you, and prayed for sweet little Samuel.

You all will continue to be in my prayers. Enjoy your break from the blog world.
What most important is what is right in front of you.

  6. I completely understand your need to step away from the blog....but could you please just pop on and give an update on Samuel? It's hard knowing that he's in the hospital and not knowing when all is well.

Continuing to pray for you and your sweet family!

  15. I will keep your family in my prayers. Reading your blog has become one of my daily routines and although I will miss it, I understand the need to take time off for your family. Please keep us up to date occasionally and I am praying for Samuels speedy recovery! May God keep you in His ever present care.

  16. Dear Lockwood family, I have enjoyed reading your blog for the last year or so and really admire what you are doing. I will miss reading it but really, your family and what you are doing is way more important that anything else. God didnt give you 12 healthy kids to keep us updated, he gave them to you to raise into wonderful adults. So with that I hope you will feel no guilt about updating. I know the last year has been full of trials for you and its time to settle down and just breath. I am so glad things went well for you in delivering Samuel and both of you being healthy, I have to wonder if all these things are a sign to complete your family and now raise them. I truly dont think God would of given you 12 healthy kids and then take you away from them. You both made it through, but Im sure your body is tired and maybe that was all a sign that he is your last and being back in Mexico to raise them and minister is what is suppose to happen next for you. I hope you will take some time to just embrace the blessings you have been given and love life..

  18. If anyone could use some sleep, it has got to be you and your husband. As much as I love reading your updates, that is certainly understandable. If it is ok, I will hope that you decide to take it back up at some point :)
Please do let us know about Samuel. And know that out of sight won't be out of mind for your blog followers. Or at least not for me.

  20. Jayne and family,
My heart is sad that we will no longer have regular post from your amazing family, but I understand that you must focus where the Lord leads your heart(s) to be. This blog has served as a testament of your awesome faith and many times has encouraged me to draw closer to the Lord through your writing.
I have felt like the Lord was using you to minister to those you don't even know through this vessel and I hope He will lead you back to us soon.
Prayers for Little Samuel and the entire bunch.

  25. Although your blog has blessed me and encouraged me in my walk, we don't need blog updates to pray for Samuel or your dear family. The Holy Spirit will intercede for us. We have an awesome God who knows our every need. You are so wise to recognize that your family needs you and you need rest when you can get it. I will be praying for you every day. God bless you all.

  28. We will be praying for your dear little Samuel and thank you for all the updates and really just the blog in itself. I'm glad you will be taking a break though. With everything going on, it's a good idea to not have one more thing on the plate. *hugs* for your family.

  32. Thinking of you all at this time. I don't feel like I have the time or energy to keep a blog and I only have two children!! I love reading about your brood and how you 'keep it together'.

    Take care,

  33. With all of your responsibilities taking care of your children, you have been an "internet missionary" in many ways that will probably never be visible to you, and your faith has truly touched so many in this way.

    I am praying for Samuel.

  34. Jaynee,
I started reading your blog when Eliseo was sick (I found you because he was on a prayer request list that someone sent me). You and Daniel have been through so much and your life and faith has been a huge inspiration to me.

The Lord has given you a special work to do (which may not include the blog for now) in Mexico and with your family.

I will continue to pray for you all and especially little Samuel at this time. I also look forward to an occasional update post so that we can continue to know that you all are well.
