Getting better

This morning, Tel-Mex came and fixed our phone/internet line! While I was thankful we were able to go into town to download/send email and update the blog, it is much easier to do from home. I have always thought back on a biography I read of Adoniram and Ann Judson, one of the first missionaries to Burma in the early 1800's.
How much they suffered as they strove to give the gospel to a very hard, closed people! When they first arrived, they were alone, not knowing anything of the Burmese language, battling sickness and living in a very impoverished area. It was a year and a half before they got their very first letter from home. And here I can send or get a message in seconds. Yet do I sacrifice my life fully to Christ as those early missionaries did? How thankful I am for their example!

I went back to the doctor on Thursday as they had the results from some of my tests. Everything pointed to me having a very bad bladder or possibly kidney infection. The doctors were a bit baffled though as I have had no pain or bother at all in that area. My only real complaint has been the fever, body aches, and fatigue.
They prescribed me another antibiotic and after being on it for 2 days now, I'm feeling so much better. I think this is the first day in 2 weeks I haven't had a fever, and last night was the first time since being sick that I felt hungry, so I think I'm on the mend :) Thank you for your prayers!

Today is Susannah's 4th Birthday. Tacos tonight! :) This next weekend, Daniel's brother and sister in law with their 6 children are due to arrive for a visit. How good the Lord is to bless us so much!

  2. Praise the Lord, Jaynee! I am SO glad that you are feeling better. I so often pray for you when I wake in the night with the baby (who is getting too old for this nighttime stuff, btw), and last night, especially, I prayed for you (and worried a bit too). I hope you regain your strength quickly. You don't look like you can afford to lose too much, either, so I'm glad your appetite is back. And your internet access! We've missed your blogging. Thankful, too, that you will be having a lady friend come your way (sister-in-laws are the best!), and praying that you will be refreshed.

  8. We have been praying for you since before the hurricane came your way! I can't believe all you have been through since then! Thanking God that you are recovering. It was amazing that there was almost no news coverage here of the devastation your area experienced! Trusting you all continue to recover and rebuild!
    Blessings

  15. I am happy to hear your are feeling better. A few years ago, we had the same issue with our youngest daughter (who is now 6 1/2). We were on vacation and she never complained of anything hurting until the day we left. She was very tired, had a fever and said her side hurt. But nothing about when she went to the bathroom.

It turned out that she had a very bad kidney infection. It was so bad and she was so dehydrated from it that it took 19 tries to get an IV in her ~ the only reason it finally worked was because I insisted that she be sedated. It was horrible! But I'll tell you what, she was so good! Every time someone would try again, she would hold her arm (or foot) very still, turn her head away and cry. And we have everyone, from the birthing nurses to the veteran EMT try, all to no avail. Remember, she was only 4! She did far better than most adults I know!

She never once complained of pain like you would have with a UTI. It was very strange. But obviously, it does happen.
