100 Fingers

As I sat feeding sweet little Nehemiah, I noticed that his nails were getting long. My children's nails have always been a source of "tension" for me. The chore of keep them all trimmed and cleaned is one that often seems to get overlooked. With all the construction going on and all the big dirt piles through which my children love to dig, their nails have been quite a site lately.

Pondering all this, I began to realize that I have 100 fingernails to keep clean. Then I thought, that those 100 nail are attached to 100 fingers. Wow, the Lord has blessed us with 100 precious little fingers!

My thoughts turned to prayer as I thanked the Lord for each one of those little fingers. May they always be used to do good. May they be the fingers that reach out to others in a lost and dying world. May they along with all their precious hands, feet, eyes, ears, and mouth always serve the Lord Jesus.

Cleaning their nails now seems more like a privilege than a chore.

We made the front page of the paper!

Yesterday, we drove to the town south of us to pick up some supplies for the house and to go to the post office to check our mail. While Daniel was inside checking the mail, a man came up to

the van and asked if he could get a picture of our family. He said he was from the newspaper across the street and he and some of his co-workers had seen our family in town before and wanted to take a picture for the paper. So we all marched over to the office for a quick picture.

Daniel told him we lived in Cd. Insurgentes and were missionaries there. They asked Daniel to write all our names on a piece of paper before we left. We didn't think too much of it and finshed our errands and went home.

Today, we had to return to town for more supplies. Daniel stopped at the post office and the bank first while we waited in the van. When he returned, he said it was funny because people were staring at him and pointing. We are use to this when we have all the little ones in tow, but he thought it was weird that they were doing it to him by himself.

As we drove down the street, there was a boy selling papers. He said, "Get your paper...see this beautiful family". We had made the front page...in color! Susannah made the second page herself.

We aren't much for all this attention. Well, maybe this "exposure" will be used by the Lord to bring others to hear the gospel.

There's a baby in the house

"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."
Psalm 127:3
