First, we want to thank all of you who have been praying for Nehemiah. We know the Lord hears and answers prayer. Thank you also to the many who have emailed us with words of encouragement and care. The sweet notes brighten our day and are a blessing.
We have some good news!.....Nehemiah's test for cystic fibrosis came back normal. The doctors are still worried about him and are afraid that if we go back to Mexico right now, we will lose him. He is still having respritory problems (wheezing, coughing, retractions) and isn't gaining weight. Tomorrow afternoon we take him back to the hospital for a video swallow test. The pediatrician thinks he may be apsirating fluid into his lungs as he eats, and the test will show if this is the problem.
Please continue to pray that the Lord will heal him. Pray the Lord will give wisdom to the doctors and that if there is a problem, that it can be found and treated quickly. Tomorrow night, we will be going to prayer meeting at our sending church (Millville Community Baptist) where our pastor will be praying over Nehemiah.
We are all packed and ready to head back down, but looks like the Lord wants us to stay a bit longer. Thank you for your prayers! The Lord is good!
What good news it is to hear he doesn't have CF, but at the same time I feel so bad for the little guy. Asthma is just no fun and being that tiny... :( We'll continue to pray for him.
