We have internet here at our home! And now that we FINALLY have it, our laptop is in the computer shop...I think the Mexican dust is a bit hard on it...and the primary operator of it (me :) ), messes it up too sometimes. Lord willing we will have it back soon as I miss posting pictures.
I cannot write a post without thinking of you all who continue to pray for our family. I am so thankful to still be here at home and not spending time in the hospital; I'm so thankful for another week gone by without any major problems (25 weeks now almost!); I'm so thankful to feel those little kicks get stronger and stronger all the time; and I'm so thankful how the Lord has taken care of us all.
At our family Bible time each morning, we read a chapter from God's Word. We are currently in the book of Psalms and how precious those Words are in times of trial. Each day, we are comforted and convicted as we seek to know God's Truth.
I wanted to ask for your help. Since we were without internet for so long and since I don't have our regular computer, I know there may be some of you still waiting a response from a question you've asked in a previous post. I can remember a handful of them, but if you have asked something that we haven't answered, would you mind asking it again by commenting under this post? Or if you have something you've been wanting to ask (about family, baby, ministry, home school, the children, ect...), this would be a good post to ask it. That way, I can have the questions all in one place rather than going back through previous posts to find them all.
I sure appreciate it.
Have a wonderful weekend in the Lord. He is so good!
Welcome! Nuestra Casa Es Su Casa ...Our house is your house
A glimpse into the life of Daniel and Jaynee Lockwood and their 12 precious blessings. Thank you for visiting; we pray that what we share here may always bring glory to our wonderful God and Saviour. May you praise the Lord with us for the great things He has done and continues to do as we serve Him sharing the gospel here in the little town of Cuidad Insurgentes, BCS Mexico. He alone is good and faithful!
Good to hear you are still home and that you HAVE A HOME finally!
ReplyDeleteI've really missed your posts and pictures:)
I'm so glad you and baby are doing well. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. I have 2 questions. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen one of you gets sick with vomitting, does everyone tend to get it? Is this something that happens really often in large families? It's hard enough when one of my children gets sick, I can't imagine having several at once who are very ill in this way.
Also, I'm wondering if you sleep train your babies and how you go about doing this? I've always co-slept but that's gotten harder with each child, our current baby is a VERY restless sleeper.
Thanks so much if you have time to answer!! God bless!
How will you handle the possibility of being pregnant after this little one's arrival? Since it has been so high risk, will you consider yourself done with having babies?
ReplyDeleteHeather
LOL! I found peanut butter on my laptop today. I am really messy with my laptop, too. I don't see a way around it. That's just when you know you are a blogging mom.
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for you. God is so good and so faithful and He has you in His hands. Thank you for the inspiration you are in the midst of trials.
ReplyDeleteHi Jaynee, so glad all is good!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you do for your morning bible time. Do you pray together, read do the kids do activies on what you have read?
thanks
Hola Jaynee! How wonderful to hear your updates and that little baby Lockwood is still doing so well! What a blessing! I found you through the awards and my family and I have loved following your missionary journey. If you have time, I would love a cake class 101 - we love the beautiful cakes and can't believe how - I imagine with - few cake resources - special pans, etc. - they are so cute and look so tasty - so any tips, recipes, etc. - how to - would be really fun! (I also loved the picture of the fish meal, so fish 101 - or really anything cooking is always fun. Child training tips are always appreciated too! We are praying for you - hooray for 25 weeks!:)
ReplyDeleteJust wondering how many children you plan to have after this high risk pregnancy or have the doctors advised you to stop getting pregnant? And, are you on bedrest now, or are you able to move around? If on bedrest, who takes care of your children for you? And, I noticed in previous posts, your very young children using the stove by themselves to cook a meal. How young do you start them cooking with stove and is there a way you find is best to teach that safely? Also, I really enjoyed your post with pictures of food that you prepare for your family. I hope you think about posting more meal photos and recipes please! Thanks and hope you are feeling well today.
ReplyDeleteDo you still breastfeed Eliseo? And, if so, do you plan on tandem nursing the new baby too with him? How long have you breastfed each of your kids? Do you have any good breastfeeding tips?
ReplyDeleteDear Jaynee,
ReplyDeletePlease don't feel obligated to answer this question if you don't have time. I noticed somewhere that you use MOTH. How long have you used it? I am brand new to MOTH, and there is an enormous difference in everything in our home when I stick to the schedule (showing how poorly I use my time and how messy I am.) Have you always been organized and a scheduled-person?
Thank you,
Amy in MN
Thank you so much for updating us! I continue to keep you and your precious baby in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteMy "question" is about MOTH, too. I would love to see closer up pics of your schedule. I'm a chart person! Ü
Blessings~
Kelly
Hello Jaynee! It is so good to "hear" from you! You have been on my mind as of late and I have been burdened to pray for you all.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not too much trouble, I do have a question for you: When do you usually start potty training your child? My 4th child is 2 1/2 and it's time to start thinking about it again. With my first child, it took 2 weeks shy of a year to get her potty trained (no joke!). With my 2nd, I waited until she was about 2 1/2 and she was done in about 3 weeks. With my 3rd, since he's a boy and I've heard negative things about training boys, I waited until about 2 months before his 3rd birthday and he was done in about 3 weeks. With this child ( a boy), I'm not quite sure when or how to start. I was hoping you could give me some pointers, since you have far more experience than I do!

Jaynee~ We're so glad to hear you're doing well and already at 25wks!! We sort of hold our breath in between your posts and let out a big sigh of relief when we hear from you :-) I love updating the kids during bible reading/prayer and they love hearing all about you.
ReplyDeleteWe've been praying for a helper for you during this time of transition :-)
Love, hugs and prayers~ Cinnamon
Glad to hear things are going well. My questions....
ReplyDeleteHow do you afford health care in the States. Do you still have health insurance?
I would love to meet you at the park you mentioned in your last post. Let me know if and when that would work for you!
ReplyDeleteJoanna happytobehome@charter.net
As a fellow missionary, I have a question about children and support goals. Has your need for financial support increased with the birth of each child? If so, how do you estimate the number and how do you continue to raise your support level? My husband and I look forward to having children and would love to have your thoughts on this subject.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is there a book or principles you would recommend about managing the home for a couple when they have just 1 child so far?

Hi Jaynee:
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that you and the baby are doing OK.
I was wondering if all of your children are bilingual? Also, do you speak spanish?
So glad to hear a good report from you again. I tend to hold my breath too between your posts. :)It is such an encouragement to know that we serve a God who is totally in control of every situation and can take care of us now matter what trials He sends our way. I know that you will look forward to the arrivals of, Lordwilling, many more little Lockwoods after this precious baby, knowing that He can take care of us no matter what men may say! I look forward to seeing what tips you may share with others. My oldest turns 5 in 2 weeks and my children are all anticipating the arrival of our 4th due, 6/1. I am trying to really hammer down a good routine and teach the 2 older ones how to do more as they are actually reaching the age of capability. :) I am curious as to what name you have picked out...I pulled out the baby name books trying to find one that had the meaning of "God sustains" or something like that but was unsuccessful. I found it neat to see that someone was naming their child Isaac Charles, as that is the name we have had picked out for our baby if it is a boy. :) Well, enough rambling on my part, so glad to see you are doing well. My friend had a preterm baby at 22.5 wks and I follow the CF blog (which is how I found y'all). So I know how when I saw that tiny of a baby out in the world how much I wanted to scoop it up and put it back inside Mommy. Such a blessing to know that "Justin Other" is still hanging out in the womb, such a sweet safe place to be!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the cyberworld. Have you ever heard of Sons of Korah? They are a music group out of Australia or New Zealand who have put the Psalms to musec. Anyway they have a website where you can listen and hear a sample of their music. We really enjoy listening to the Psalms as well as reading them. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHi Jaynee,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear things are going well for you. I have been praying for you all.
I am wondering what you use for curriculum for homeschooling. We have 8 kids, ages 12 - 1. I am wondering if there is something you use with all of them.
What do you do during Bible time? What do you do with the littles while doing Bible time and school?
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions.
Cindy in Canada
I found my questions in a previous post. Thanks for taking the time to answer. I also wonder like others if this is the final Lockwood, or if there will be more. Praying for you and #12.
ReplyDeleteHi, I fequent your blog, but have yet to write. I'm so glad that you and baby are well. I've been praying for you both. I have been checking daily for updates. I was really curious about how your Christmas went. Christmas with such a large family must be wonderful. I was wondering what kind of things do you do? Do you have any special tradions? How do you buy presents for 11 children? What kind of gifts did you and your dear husband get? I would love to see pictures and hear all about your holidays. Thank you for your blog. Your children are just precious.
In His Hands,
Mary Mangies
Jaynee... I'm just SO SO happy to know that things are looking brighter and baby boy is doing ok! We are praying for you guys and WE LOVE YOU! My baby is getting bigger and stronger too. Someday I look forward to the possibility of these two little buns-in-the-oven meeting face to face! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating! I was getting nervous! We will continue to pray as I know the challenges that must come from Daniel having to be gone and you caring for your growing baby and all of your other little blessings there at home. Hope the older ones are being a big help.. I'm sure they are. :)
love jess
Your last delivery was by c-section. Do you have to always have one now?
ReplyDeleteHi Jaynee,
ReplyDeleteThis is a simple question. I am reading aloud from "Winter with the Moodys" right now (I noticed that you read these aloud also!) and read about the Moody's sending a Christmas box to a family of Lockwoods who are missionaries in Mexico. I know they include some real-life people and places--is this your family that is mentioned? Did your husband lead Mr.Maxwell to the Lord (if so, he was probably a little boy!)?
I was pretty excited when I read about that in the story.
Thanks,
Amy
