Tacos!

Yesterday evening, we did something that we haven't done for months and it was so much fun!
It all started out with me pulling out a bag of materials I'd purchased a few weeks back to make a craft with the children.  As we were pulling everything out of the bag, we found 70 pesos (about $6). :)  Oh, yes!  I remember...I had put the change from my purchase in the bag to carry it on my walk home and forgot all about it!  I love it when I do that!  Pulling out my coat for the first time each winter, I always reach in my pockets because I've been known to leave change there too.  Daniel doesn't get as excited about that as I do and doesn't understand why any and all change/money isn't always and immediately put into my wallet. :)  Men are so very practical.
Well, this got me thinking.  I said, "Who would like to go out to eat for Mother's Day (Mother's Day is always May 10th here in Mexico)?  I'll donate 70 pesos and whoever else wants to give, just add your money to the bag."
A few minutes later, we had 213 pesos!
I called Daniel and told him about our plan. :)  When he got home, everyone was hurrying around to get washed up, shoes on, and hair combed.
Daniel brought home the shuttle bus, which made for an extra fun ride into the city.
We ate tacos, went to the park, and then Daniel took us to the coffee shop to get me a cappuccino and the children each a cookie for dessert.

Time to get ready for prayer meeting, but here are a few more pictures from this week.

After lunch, these three are normally quite the sight...sand from the sand box, shirts and faces covered with whatever we ate for lunch, sometimes glue in their hair or markers on their face.:)  Since it's been so warm, I've just been giving them a quick bath in the big laundry room sink.  Then they are all fresh and clean and ready for nap time/quiet time.

We had our first Sunday services in our new location this week!

And here's the craft we did yesterday afternoon!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week in Jesus!

  2. Hello Jaynee!! Loved all the updates and pictures of your big beautiful family. We love tacos too. We've eaten them tons lately. But since I cannot have cheese I've had to get creative with what I put on it. Avacado is a yummy subsitute with black olives, lots of lettuce and tomatoes :-)

Thought of you the other day as it peaked 94* here :-/ humid!
