For the past several years, at the beginning of each new school year, we take pictures of our "students".
Normally, we do this during the first week of school.
This year I was going to do it the second week of school just to make the first week a bit easier.
But I wanted to give the boys their hair cuts first.
And then the hair clippers broke.
And finally I got another one.
And then I lost my camera.
And then two days ago, I found it!
So as everyone was getting ready for church this morning and (thanks to the time change) we weren't running late this morning, we quickly snapped this year's pictures.

Your list of happenings to take a picture cracked me up. So familiar!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great group of "students" you have there!
I love looking at all the similarities and uniqueness of your children. So beautiful! Some look like they might belong there and others....well they look like bleached blonde cuties :-)
YOU look wonderful my dear friend. Silly as ever! I can hear you all chattering away even from waaay over here in the USA :-)
Hope your school year is going wonderfully. I know you're enjoying each moment.
~love and hugs~

They just spent all day Friday at the beach (last trip for the year) and with it being November and close to 100 degrees during the day still and LOTS of sun and LOTS of outside play, they are always so blond and tan. :)
DeleteI missss youuuu!!! I love chattering with you! Our school year is going well! Just enjoying every day with them all while they are all still under one roof.
I still have an email from forever ago from you that maybe I'll answer this week...I'm so bad at getting emails answered...but know I love it when you write, think of you often, pray for you, and can't wait to see you again!
Tell Grace hi for me and sending a big hug from Mexico to you all!
love,
Jaynee
Everyone looks great! Beautiful pictures. Glad you found your camera!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nicole! I am so thankful I found my camera, too! It was given to me a couple years ago by some dear friends...such a generous, useful gift for which I'm so grateful!
DeleteWe used it to take pictures of the hurricane we had a few weeks ago. And then we couldn't find it. I checked everywhere. Then I did what I should have done right at the first (will I ever learn??)...I prayed. And asked a friend of mine to pray too. The very next day, I found it! I know it was from the Lord because a thought popped into my head that I'd never thought of before...
I just thought how everyone wore jackets when we went out to check out the storm. It wasn't cold at all, but the kids were excited to use their coats for the first time this year and I remember hanging them all up to dry after we got home. I thought that I'd never checked the coat pockets. And I found it in hubby's coat!
:)

I'll write you in real life sometime soon.
love,
Jaynee
Amy---I used to read and LOVE your blog, before it went private. I don't know exactly "how" private you want it to be now, but we have alot in common and I'd love to follow along, if you're open to that.
DeleteIt's funny how we can feel as if we know someone dearly, when in reality, they have no clue who we are....ahh, the mysteries of a technology filled world. :)
BEAUTIFUL and joyful family!!! Love it. Never a dull moment for sure, haha.
ReplyDeleteSo, how do you keep all those books on the shelves without little ones tearing them off? I tried it once, but I gave up!!! :)
Love you,
Jessica
Jessica!!!!!!!!! Ha! Well, for the first time in 16 years, we are out of the "baby" stage (sniff, sniff...but content, thankful and enjoying the "bigger" stage) :). I spent many hours I'm sure picking up books from the floor with the littles. I use to have the bottom shelves empty with just toys in them. Most of the children couldn't read back then, so books were more exciting when used as building blocks (as far as my boys were concerned :) ). Now I have a lower shelf with all the little kid books (for Samuel, Eliseo and Nehemiah) and that's always a bit messy, but the other shelves stay pretty much in place. I reorder them every now and then when I'm bored with nothing to do but eat bon bons and drink lemonade...Oh, that's way my book shelves are so dusty!! :)
DeleteLove and miss you, my friend!!! I'll write you soon, too! I still have your email in my inbox (blush)...
Keep caring for your hubby and sweet babies and home as unto the Lord! He is so faithful and good and gives so much joy in serving!
love,
Jaynee
:) Bon Bons huh? I knew it!!!! You are too funny.
ReplyDeleteOkay, well I guess I will keep throwing books in baskets for now. Thank you for sharing. I have learned much from you and appreciate your willingness to share your life and heart.
I was just talking with CHad the other day about you guys and how you guys are true missionaries. So thankful for your family, even though we have yet to meet.
Take care way over there!!!
Love,
Jessica
Jaynee!!! You have a 16 year old. Sigh. Wasn't he just a little boy? I can handle my girls getting "older", but my boys are going to be hard.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found your camera. I can't imagine WHY you lost it----perhaps it was buried under the bon-bons? :)
Love you!
He was just a little boy!! And those days that use to seem so long when they were all young now seem to be going by so fast. It is bitter/sweet...missing that stage when they were all my "babies" yet loving seeing them grow into young men and woman excited to see how the Lord will use each one of them.
ReplyDeleteYes! That explains why my lens is so sticky! :) You just made me hungry! For chocolate :) Love you, too!
Adorable, crazy-looking, happy family! We enjoyed being in your home church recently... then I was able to meet your sister at Shadow Mountain. Now I feel like I practically know you. :-)
ReplyDeleteJolene!! Yes! A couple weeks ago, we got home from church earlier than normal and I said to the kids, "Let's log on to Shasta Baptist's service to see if we can see Grandma at the organ", and I saw your hubby in the pulpit and then you came up to share your testimony and then I called my mom's cell phone (hoping that she did NOT have it on during church) to tell her to tell you hi from me :-)
DeleteAnd then this weekend, I was talking to Julee and she told me she met you! And I'm soooo jealous! :) But sooo happy that we practically know each other :-)
May the Lord continue to bless you as your serve Him!
Love you much!
I was on two different blogs Sunday night and could see your picture on their side bar, but could not find the post! Finally it came through :). All the kids have grown so much in a year!!! Glad you found your camera before the grew even more!! We miss you all so much!
ReplyDeleteHi! Ha ha...yes, it normally takes me a while to get a post ready to publish...I upload a picture here, another one there, write a bit here, write a bit there as I have time...Well, after I'd just put on that first picture, I somehow hit publish. It took me another day before the post was really there.
ReplyDeleteWe miss you soooo much too! Time to start school :)
Jaynee,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the pictures very much. I love following your blog and hearing about your family.
Blessings to you,
Cathy
