While our final days here in the USA are coming to an end, we have just thanked the Lord for a wonderful time and His loving hand in directing us in so many ways. Monday, Tuesday, and part of Wednesday were very special days. They involved some very sweet family members and friends watching our 10 oldest children, the loan of a small gas efficient car, and some time alone for Daniel and I (and little Eliseo got to come along too :) ).
Today, we left early in the morning to head back up the mountain to Burney, CA to be a part of Grace Community Bible Church's VBS. The pastor and his wife had us over for lunch and we enjoyed a blessed time of fellowship while the children had so much fun riding bikes, scooters, and just playing together.
After lunch, we took the children to Burney Falls...not only a beautiful waterfall, but the place where my very handsome man asked me to be his wife. :) As we walked along the trails, I felt so humbled and amazed for all the joy the Lord's given me these past 13 years.
The girls and I sang songs as we hiked along behind the boys and talked about our wonderful Creator and Lord!
Hiking up to the top of the falls
Daniel proposed to me here on December 26, 1994~ and we celebrate 13 years as husband and wife on July 22!
Y'all are making such lovely memories for your children, and at the same time savouring your own sweet memories!

ReplyDeleteHi Lockwoods,
ReplyDeleteI was hoping you could all pray for my family today. My Uncle Lyn's funeral is today. He is now in Heaven with the Lord. He passed away from liver cancer. He was 48 and he leaves behind a wife and 12 year old son, John Thomas. Although he was hoping for an earthly miracle, he has received the ultimate healing in Heaven. Please pray that we can honor the Lord today and always. In Christ,
Heather

ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you, and you have just been busily traveling back home and getting settled in again after your time in the States. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! The children, as usual, all looked so very happy on their adventure. I haven't been following your blog very long, but this is the longest you have not posted in the time I have been reading, so I'm just a little concerned. I hope that bug that hit you and Eliseo on the trip up didn't come back to more of you again! Extra prayers going up for you tonight! :)

ReplyDeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteWe weren't able to see your comment until a few days after you posted it, but how our hearts hurt for you and your Uncle Lyn's wife and boy. I'm so glad he is with the Lord and I know your hearts long for that glorious day of renunion with our Lord and those who've gone before us.
We prayed for you this morning and will again tonight. May God give you grace, peace, and comfort during this time as only He alone can.
love,
Jaynee
Hi...this is Jaynee. We received a comment on this post while we were travleing that I had to delete. Because we were traveling and had no internet access, this comment stayed up for many days and I know many of you may have read it and some of you commented about it or emailed me about it.
ReplyDeleteI have received other comments before that I've had to delete, but normally I see them and get to them before anyone else reads them. But this case was different.
Though I appreciate and understand those of you who responded in our defense to this anonymous commenter, I chose to delete those as well.
I don't want this blog to be a place for critcism or debate. If someone has a concern or disagreement in an area and would like to discuss it, I don't mind if they send us an email.
The purpose of this blog is to let others know of how the Lord is working in our lives and in the lives of the people here in Mexico. We love to answer questions and be an encouragment in any way we can too. We just want all that is written here to be glorifying to the Lord.
love,
Jaynee
I am a little late in reading up on your blog, but just wanted to wish you a Very Happy Anniversary! It is always precious to read about your family. I especially enjoy your individual comments about each of your children.
