Welcome! Nuestra Casa Es Su Casa ...Our house is your house

A glimpse into the life of Daniel and Jaynee Lockwood and their 12 precious blessings. Thank you for visiting; we pray that what we share here may always bring glory to our wonderful God and Saviour. May you praise the Lord with us for the great things He has done and continues to do as we serve Him sharing the gospel here in the little town of Cuidad Insurgentes, BCS Mexico. He alone is good and faithful!

Agua! :-)

Tonight: Hot Showers
Tomorrow: Clean, Scrup, Mop, and Wash
Thank you, Lord!

And just in time as Brother Chava, a Mexican Pastor for 30 years, will be arriving tomorrow afternoon with his family to visit and preach in our services Sunday.
Sunday will be 5 years from when we first started working here.
We moved our travel trialer to our very own piece of land 4 years ago...the same land on which our yellow house now sits.
How could I complain about a few days without water when the Lord's blessed us much!

Today we took little Samuel to get another x-ray. He was quite excited about the idea...or maybe it was just the fact that we were going for a ride in the van. Between his broken leg and then several days with a cold, he hasn't gotten out much. Neither has mommy :-)

Rebekah's Bible finally came in the mail this week. She was so surprised! I'd forgotton what the cover looked like that I ordered for it and was pleasantly surprised at how bright and pretty it was...just like Rebekah!

And Susannah announced today that she is going to write her own Bible. I think she made it mostly through Genesis 1:1 this morning. It's always fun to see the littler ones wanting so badly to do and be like their older siblings. While I always remind the older ones of this encouraging them to be good examples, I am reminded how much my children watch and imitate me. Sweet and precious, but humbling too!

We had to wait quite a while for the doctor to come to see Samuel. I took a couple pics of the waiting room of the hospital here just so you could see it :) Samuel's getting sleepy...he always sucks his two middle fingers when he's tired.

The doctor wants to see Samuel again in a couple more weeks. Because of his age, he thinks the bone will do fine without surgery, but he wants to take another set of x-rays and check again next month.
So Lord willing, we'll have a healed, cast free boy sometime the end of next month :)
He's sure getting around good now days. Like my big boys wear holes in the knees of their jeans, Samuel's worn through a couple layers of the knee of his cast. Maybe I'll draw a patch on it. :-)

Thank you so much for your prayers again this week. The Lord is so good!

  1. My oldest son also sucked the same two fingers on the same hand as Samuel. He made himself left-handed as a result :) He writes left-handed, but plays baseball right-handed. Go figure :) Thanks for the updates--we'll continue to pray.

  4. Your little daughter is so sweet, with wanting to write her own Bible! How many of your kids don't have their own Bible? Do most of the people that come to your church have their own Bibles?

I'm so glad to see that your sweet baby is doing better, and that you got your water fixed! I don't comment here often, but I do come by and enjoy your blog regularly. I want you all to know that my husband and I have been praying for you and your family, that you all will have good health, good results in your ministry, and many blessings!

  5. Thank you, Chris, for your prayers. I'm glad you stopped by to comment too :-).
Our oldest 3 (ages 13-11) have a bilignual bible (Spanish/English)as they can read both Spanish and English; our next 5 (ages almost 10 - 5)have an English Bible as they can read well or are learning to read but just in English; and the next 2 (ages 3 and 4) have a little Spanish New Testament as they can't read yet, but love taking a Bible to church or having one to "read" during quiet time.
Most every adult or teen in our church has a complete Bible and all the children have a N.T; we were able to purchase them for them or were given Bibles at times to give. We had a day a couple years ago where we gave a tract and either a Bible, N.T, or John/Romans to 90% of the homes in our town.

  10. You wrote a while back about praying for time to sew some dresses for the girls. The post was so good I am still thinking about it often. Rarely do I think to run to the Lord about small things. But why would He not care when he knows the number of hairs on our head. Your story was a perfect visual.

Also I have had been able to sew fabric onto a shirt in order to make many dresses quickly. I prefer sewing the full dress, but I can't always spend the time.

  11. Hello Jaynee,
We've been following your blog for awhile now and enjoy it so much. You are so blessed with your 12 little arrows...we only have 9 so far but would love more. The joy with which you embrace your calling is inspiring...it's such a blessing to find God raising up families all over the world who REJOICE in His gift of children.
Glad Samuel is doing well. Love your funny children stories... esp. the underwear in the yard. That's hilarious...I laughed out loud. I find socks all over our property (and then the children wonder why their sock drawer is empty), but no underwear yet. So thankful your water problem is fixed. More thankful at your praise during the deal. Praying for your family and ministry. God bless you all.

    love,
    Ruth

  13. Hi Jennifer~ Yes! They got them yesterday in fact! What a beautiful family you have! Thank you for including a picture. :-) My children are always excited to get mail, and they wrote your children back yesterday. Daniel probably won't go to the post office again until next week, and mail takes a couple of weeks to get from here to the states, but please tell your children thank you and let them know letters will be on their way soon :)
