Monday Morning Update

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

What a beautiful verse...one that has become so dear to me ever since we have been on the field and even more so this past week. I'm so thankful for God's Word.

I just wanted to give a quick update this morning. We got home Saturday night...what a blessing to ride not only in a car that had a reclining seat but one with a/c...a very unexpected blessing! It was a very comfortable ride home and I'm so very thankful.

Daniel had all the children sit down in the living room and then brought me in. I will remember forever each of those sweet, warm 12 hugs I received. Then we all talked about what had happened, shared what the Lord had done, how so many were praying and let them ask questions. Their questions were so sweet and so sincere and what child like faith. We then all went around the room and took turns praying.

We went to bed and a couple hours later, Nehemiah crawled into my bed and a couple minutes later, we found out he had the stomach flu. By the next day, several of the children were down. Admittedly, it was a bit discouraging, but even when all I wanted to do was cry, I continued to think of how all things work together for good to them that love God and clung to that throughout the day. It was a long day...Daniel had to be at church all day, but he brought dear Hna. Tola over and she stayed all day long and helped take care of well, most everything since I am not very helpful right now :). The children woke up much better this morning and Hna. Tola will be here all day each day this week. I'm so thankful for her help and so thankful for my husband making sure I'm taken care of when he can't be here.

Daniel went back to La Paz this morning because he has to pay the remainder of our hospital bill, return Rick his car and pick up our truck, and...should I really say this...Daniel said I should...he has to drop off my uterus at the lab. Yes, my uterus has been in a jar in our bedroom this entire weekend. It needs to go to pathology, and the patient is responsible for delivering it, but the lab was closed over the weekend when we got discharged and they didn't give it to us until then.
Well, at least we had time to tell it good bye. :) Don't make me laugh...it hurts my tummy :)

I'm feeling weak but the pain is better. My main concern right now is that I am not eliminating fluids as I should. Please pray this issue resolves. I get a bad pressure headache anytime I lay down too. We called the doctor last night and he gave us a prescription and told me to drink even more. Early this morning I drank another 600 ml. but nothing has come out and I feel all the more swollen and full. The doctor told us to call later today if things don't start resolving. So please continue to pray.
I'm scheduled to have my stitches removed on Thursday and the wound looks clean for which we are thankful.

Those couple days where things were so grave and all I could do was lay in bed, moan and pray as I could, a little bird with a bright yellow head came to my window. And he stayed there for almost an hour pecking on the glass, flying around, looking in the room. My eyes filled with tears and I told Daniel that God sent that little bird just to remind me that He loves me and is caring for me and is right by my side. Just a few minutes later, Daniel opened the computer to read me the new comments and someone had typed out the entire song of His Eye is On the Sparrow. I can't tell you what a special encouragement that was! I cried as I listened and drank in each word.
Thank you so much for your love, encouragement, and prayers. How wonderful is the body of Christ! How faithful and good is our Lord!

  1. what roller coaster of emotions it must have been!!! I'm so happy to hear you are relatively well and on the mend!!!! I will keep praying for your recovery and for the fluid problem. How weird about the uterus in your room? It makes it seem so base that they would have you deliver it to the lab....I guess Mexico is a lot different than Canada:)
Do the children know about "no more babies"? What was their reaction and how about you? How are you holding up in that department Jaynee? You are on my heart!

  2. Your story about the little yellow bird reminded me of the passage in Matthew 6 and of God's infinite care and love for us! Praying for your continued recovery, Jaynee, and praising God for all He has done this past week!
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26

  3. praying for you Jaynee, coming home must be sooo exciting for you and the littlies. Hope and pray that everyone is better and what a blessing for you all to have Tola to help. I love the little yellow bird, pray he comes back to keep you company. Praying Daniel has a good trip. Love and hugs to everyone and lots of prayers for you and your wonderful husband and children.

  4. Praying about the urinary issues, Jaynee!!
I thought I was going to fall off my chair, when I read about your uterus sitting in your bedroom all weekend!!! My, oh, my....we are soooo spoiled by our available health care system in the US, even though the system does need some tweaking!! But I am so thankful that God has provided everything for you, either thru your local health care or with His miraculous interventions.
OK..hymn for today: Great is Thy Faithfulness! :)

  5. Dear Jaynee,
I have been reading your blog for some time and just LOVE it!!
I have never left a comment before, but just had to now.
I have been in prayer for you so very much. The power of prayer is amazing and what a comfort it is.
Thinking of you all very much and please update us as you can.
    Blessings to you,

  6. the uterus in your room thing is hilarious!! living in brazil, we are used to being responsible for picking up test results, labs, etc. to take to the doctor or somewhere else. SOOOO different than the united states, right? but, i've never had to be responsible for a body part. crazy.

still praying for you all. thank you so much for keeping us updated. really, really praying for your 'water' to turn back on and for no complications. thank you for your lives and love for Christ...such an encouragement and challenge for everyone around you (or your blog).

  7. Tears of joy & empathy & prayers on your behalf, Jaynee. I am blessed to call you my sister in Christ.

  8. So glad you are home, Jaynee! How precious was that little bird. What a bittersweet time for you saying good bye to one phase of life & entering a new one. But My! what a way to say goodbye. Many prayers being sent up for you. God bless!

  9. sigh . . . i'm So thankful to read your update this am and just feel touched that you would share your sweet time being reunited with your precious children. the uterus in a jar Did make me laugh, but then i'm so sad too for you and for what that means and am praying that GOD will touch your heart as you deal with no only physical healing, but emotional healing as well.
we will specifically be praying that you can go to the bathroom comfortably and that does not become any more of an issue.
we love you and your sweet family jaynee! i'm so glad that amy of dandelion seeds sent me your way! :)

  10. So *thankful* that you are home safely with your wee ones! We prayed and prayed while your drama was unfolding, and it is such a sweet answer to prayer to know that you are back together with your family, and on the road to recovery. I am concerned about your kidneys, sister, so please be vigilant and even aggressive about making sure things are working the way they should.

Thank you for sharing your journey on your blog, and for allowing us to come alongside you in prayer. It's a privilege!

  11. Praying for you Jaynee!!! I e-mailed Daniel while you were in the hospital about a friend of mine who nearly bled to death from a miscarriage, kinda the same thing but God spared her life as well! But she had issues with her kidneys, she swelled up so big and thought they would have to do the dialysis thing (I dont know anything about) but she finally started going and all was ok, so just be alert!!!

  12. Praise the Lord! We are so thankful you are home. Praying for your continued recovery. Make sure you take it easy, Jaynee... as much as you possibly can! How wonderful to have Hna. Tola's help. What a wonderful husband to take care of you! I know my husband would do the same for me. It's wonderful, isn't it?! Praying for your family. Love, the Anderson's from Wyo.

  13. Praying for your continued recovery...God is so good!

  14. So thankful for you:) You are a precious one and how wonderful to know you are on the mend. I will pray for your health until you are fully recovered. 15. Dear Lockwoods,
I usually check your blog once a week or so. Imagine my surprise when I saw so many posts. I have read through them and am continuing to pray for your recovery. May God continue to give you comfort and flood you with His amazing grace.

  16. You go, Mama! I am so touched by the way God is demonstrating His unfailing love and strength through your testimony. And you are getting better!! Another young lady blogger, Jenna Regan of "Feminine Farmgirl" had linked your blog when the news came out of your health emergency, and I've been reading the updates ever since, and reading back to get to *know* your family a bit. I am so blessed by the way you've placed yourselves wholeheartedly at His service, with full trust in His care. Also trusting in His sovereignty in letting your family grow to the size He sees fit! And now this beautiful post about the yellow bird... how deeply edifying is your testimony of the strength of His everlasting arms. All praise to our Heavenly Father! Please keep posting, and my family and I will put our prayers towards you shedding that excess fluid!

    Love in Him,

  17. Thank you for the regular updates - good to know specific prayer requests. PTL you're home and mending. I'll keep praying.

  18. I also read once a week or so to catch up on your beautiful family and was shocked to see all these new posts and updates! Our lord is great that you are safe, praise Jesus! I will keep praying for a quick uneventful recovery. I too had a hysterectomy almost three years ago at the young age of 25 and it is so hard to care for little ones and recover. I hope you get lots of rest and those lovely children take good care of their mama. From BC Canada.

  19. What a beautiful blessing. I'm so happy you are home with all those precious babies. I will continue to pray for your complete healing. Blessings Jaynee

  20. Jaynee, Hugs to you dear friend. Very gentle ones that is :-)

I was so happy to hear of your update. When I talked to Garrett last night he said he had seen your update on FB and just knew you'd be okay. Me I was so glad to read the updates Daniel gave and of the blessings and answers to prayer along the way.

Even better you have daily help there. THAT in itself is a HUGE blessing~

Are the children feeling all better today? I hope healing is taking place all over your home.

You are so special Jaynee and so loved~

  21. I'm praising God that you continue to recover. I was amazed at how God would not let me stop praying for you for a single second during those days of great need.

I'm so glad to hear that the song ministered to you so greatly. I know it was the prompting of the Holy Spirit that had me write that out to you, it was a busy morning but I knew I had to get that to you.

I continue to pray for a complete recovery for you, I'm believing that you will start to be relieved from all the fluid retention, in the Precious Name of Jesus.

    Love in Christ,

  22. I'm so sorry for all you've been through in the past week, but I am so thankful for the mercy and healing of the Lord.

Praying for your continued healing, fluid elimination, continued healing for the kids, and peace as you work through everything. I'm sure once the sickness and pain wears off, there's also the emotional rollercoaster to deal with and I'm praying God places His precious hands on you and gives you peace like only He can.

    Hugs & Love,

  23. Thank you for the privilege of praying for a sister in need. It has been a joy to read your blog and see the hand of the Lord; even in this very dark time in your lives. My heart hurts for you; I cannot imagine how losing your wee babies and your womb must hurt. May your recovery continue to be a blessing to you and to those who minister to you.

  24. continuing to keep you in prayer. make sure you rest and don't try to take too much on. has the fluid started coming off yet? have been very concerned about that. yeah, it's the nurse in me. lol let the kids wait on you as much as possible. it makes them feel important. : )

  25. Ah yes, and I meant to mention, my husband and I were born and raised in Eureka, CA! We've camped and sailed often on Whiskeytown Lake, and of course are a hop skip and a jump from your hometown of Redding! Fancy that!

    Awaiting your next update,

  26. Worried about your "fluid issues"...need an update!! Still praying of course! In Him, Mari-beth

  27. God is in the details! Thinking of that bird makes me cry too. He has often reminded me that He loves me and knows the deepest part of my heart. He shares in my joy and in my sorrow. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
