Prayer for our little baby

Yesterday afternoon, I was about to begin getting the children ready for our evening church service when I had a severe sharp pain in lower left side of my tummy. I could hardly walk and lay down on the bed and began to pray. Daniel was already over at the church; after about 5 minutes, I told Timothy to get his socks and shoes on and to ride his bike down to the church to get Daddy. While Timothy was getting ready to go, the pain began to subside, so I told the 6 older boys to get ready to go and the girls could stay here with me and the little ones. Susannah was already not feeling well so I thought it best to stay home and rest.
I was feeling much better by the evening, but while I was getting ready to go to bed, I began to bleed pretty heavily. We had lost a baby to miscarriage between Timothy and Elijah, and we were sure this was what was happening now. I went to bed with a sad heart, yet the Holy Spirit comforted me with knowing that our little one would be with Jesus and someday, we would all be together forever. Oh, what blessed hope we have in Jesus! I fell asleep thinking of my youngest sister who is due with twins just a few days before me and I prayed for her babies.
The next morning, we went to see my doctor and explained to him what was going on. He was very concerned and did an ultrasound right away. After a few seconds he said,
"Your baby looks....perfect". He/she was moving all around, waving at mommy :), had a good strong heartbeat, measuring right at 11 weeks along. I was so surprised and happy to see that!
He told me that a portion of the placenta has torn away from the uterine wall which was the cause for the pain and bleeding. This puts the pregnancy at "high risk" and I've been ordered to complete bed rest. He wants to see me again next Monday for another scan.
Isn't it wonderful that the same God who made the entire world has so lovingly formed each and every part of our little baby? And His ever watchful eyes are upon him/her! It is so good to be able to rest in Him.
We would appreciate your prayers so very much. Today, I'll be making a revised schedule to cover mommy's chores and make sure daddy still gets fed good. The children always enjoy cooking, so they will get lots of opportunities :) Pray for Daniel as he will be extra busy. I remember when he was so sick back in May how tiring it can be keeping up with the normal "mommy" and some "daddy" jobs too. The Lord is so good to give us the grace and strength as we need it! How faithful is He!
Blessed be His name!

  1. Dear Jaynee,

I read your blog regularly, but never post a comment (though I often do in my mind! :-). You and your family are a great encouragement and testimony. (We have six little ones ages 7 and under :-))) I wanted to let you know that we will be praying for you, your family and your little baby. Also, as a word of encouragement. I had this exact problem with our third baby (I hemmorhaged several times while I was expecting her and was on bedrest for 6 weeks)and she is now a beautiful, sweet little five year old girl.

I have also been struggling with a chronic illness for the past year, so my heart also goes out to you as you are on bed rest as I know how hard it is on the household when mommy can't get out of bed!

I wish we could bring you a meal!

    God bless you and yours.

    in Christ,

  2. We are praying for you all! We understand the high risk pregnancy part. But, have wondered what life would be like with complete bedrest and little ones. Wish I could stop by and lend a hand! I know God is your provider and He will provide.
    Melanie, Nathan & Abigail Hope

  3. I know that our heavenly father will provide just what and who you need to help with your family while you are resting and trusting in the Lord! We here are praying for you!

  4. You and your little one are in my prayers. I did bedrest with my girls, very difficult and no fun at all. Atleast you have lots of little helpers! And a I bet a cuddler or two in the bunch to keep you company.

    Prayers always to you,

  5. Have prayed and will continue to pray. Rest in HIS arms.

  6. Praying, My Dear. Hang in there - you're doing a good work. I appreciate you sharing your family's life with us... even the hard stuff.

    Blessings To You All,

  7. Our whole family is praying, please keep us updated.

    Trusting in Jesus,

  8. Hi Jaynee,

So glad you weathered the hurricane safely.

Will are praying for you and your little one...that God will protect and care for you both. We also pray for energy, understanding and patience for the other children and for Daniel as they run the house while you are on bedrest.

Your family, and especially your attitude, blesses us so much. Today I was painting to help my husband...as my back began to ache and I began to get bitten by mosquitos, instead of becoming discouraged, I was able to praise God that I could help my husband, for my children and for our home. Your good influcence rubs off on me and the Lord is so generous with his grace and mercy.

    In Christ,

  9. I'm so thankful that the baby is fine and praying for you that the placenta does not cause any other pain or problems. I'm praying for your family as they step up to take care of your duties! And of course, praying for the little baby and your sisters babies as well!

  10. Thanks Jen for praying for my babies too. =0) Jaynee, stay in bed! We're praying for you!

  11. Jaynee, your light shines for Him so very brightly! All the way to N. Virginia!:o) Your relationship with the Lord has such an impact, and your blog is a fantastic outreach. Thank you.
I am praying for you, your pregnancy and the wee one within, as well as Danile and the other children.
Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I too, like Jennifer, wish we could come help you out. :0)

    His Peace,

  12. Jaynee,

praying things remain fine and the baby continues to grow healthy and strong!

I had our baby last Thursday, a big boy (9 lbs. 14 oz.) born at home during a major snowstorm!

    God bless,
    Leah in Alaska

  13. Oh Jaynee~ Complete bedrest? Wow I guess I should have told the kids to stop praying for you to get some sleep ;-)

We'll be praying for you all~

  14. Jaynee,
I have been reading for a while now, but never know the right thing to say. You are an inspiration to me and many it seems.
The Lord has truly blessed and continues to bless you. I'm sure the older children will be a big help during this difficult time.
Good luck staying in bed for such a long time, I'll be praying for you.

  15. Praying....Praying for you and your little one. May a peace be with you during this pregnancy. I pray your hubby will be able to keep up with all the extra work to do. I pray blessings upon you and your family.

  16. I'll be praying for you more than usual, Jaynee. Thank you for letting us know!

  17. Jaynee, thank you for sharing this difficult news with us. Praying that your little one will stay strong and healthy within you, and that things will run smoothly in the household as you run your "command post" from your bed. Trusting, with you, that God IS in control, and He is busy working out his plan for your whole family in all of this. Perhaps this will be a time when some of the people in your church will feel that they can give back to you after all your family has given to them over the years you have been there.

  18. We will be praying for you, I too was on bedrest from week 20 until I delivered 6 weeks early.

I will be praying for peace for you too!

  19. So glad you and the baby are okay! We are praying for you all, and may your time in bed be profitable. I know it's hard!

    ...Wish we could help out!

  20. I've been reading ever since Nate asked for prayer for you over at cfhusband.com.

Thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Praise the Lord for his protection over your new little one. Praying that he heals your body and gives you peace and rest.

    In Him

  21. I too will be praying for you and your family. It is hard when Mom is down but children are so resilient that they will have no trouble taking care of things while you rest. I will pray

  22. Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you need to be on bed rest, but if that what it takes to bring this little one into the world, then so be it!

I was on bed rest only for a couple of weeks with only one older child, I know it is not as easy as it seems!!

I am a teacher, and just wish I could come into your home to help you school all the kids. But, you are such an amazing woman, I bet you can do it from your bed!

    Praying for you!

  23. Jaynee,
I will most definitely be praying for you and the baby. I am so sorry that you have been ordered to bed rest. I know it doesn't make life easy but it's what's best for the baby. I was on bedrest with my 3rd pregnancy and had a 1 yr. old and 2 yr. old, nothing compared to what you have to deal with but you are blessed to have so many willing, helping hands. And your faith in the Lord and trust and praise to Him is always so encouraging to me. Thank you for being such a shining example of His love!

  24. My littlest is eight weeks old. I will be praying for you everytime I nurse her. Stay in bed and rest for your sweet little one. My children really stepped up and helped so much more when I was tired and morning sick I'm sure yours will cheerfully take good care of you, too. God's blessings on you, your husband, your beautiful children and the little one growing inside you.

  25. We're thinking of you all, and praying for you too. XX

  26. My prayers are with you during this time. That sweet little babe you are carrying has a purpose that only God knows. He/She will be just what God would have them to be. Praise God for giving us insight to rest when we need to rest, see a doctor when we need to see a doctor. I will keep all the children in my prayers as well as Daniel.
    God Bless all.

  27. Times like this, all that wonderful training of your children will reap rewards! All those helpful little hands - I look forward to hearing the ways, big and small, that they are going to step in and make your home and family function over the next weeks.

May the Lord bless this time while your littlest one continues to "bake" :), and keep him/her in safety.

  28. May God make your days go quickly and pleasantly while you're on bedrest! I just experienced a miscarriage, and it's a hard thing to go through. Take care of yourself and just enjoy being a good mommy while resting!

  29. Jaynee, you are such a wonderful role model. I am thankful and blessed to read your blog. God has such wonderful plans for you and your family. I am happy the baby is doing well, now get some rest mama...

  30. I too am praying for a safe pregnancy. Thank goodness you raised those other 11 to be helpful and handy around the home. Take care, and many prayers for Daniel :)

  31. Im praying for you and your little one. You have great strength in the Lord. And lots of great help at home.

  32. hi

we are praying for you and your family

    God Bless

  33. praying for you and for baby! And for Daniel!

  34. I too will be praying and when I talk to the church we will all pray too. I am the prayer leader in sunday school.
May God bless you and let the time fly with fun things and the load be light upon everyones shoulders.
As you have said many hands make light work.

  35. Jaynee, we are praising God for a healthy baby, and praying for continued safety for him/her & you! Stay in bed and know we're on our knees on your behalf!!

    much love from Alaska,

    jessica (and Charley)

  36. Praying in Minnesota, USA.

  37. praying for you and your family. I know it will be very difficult being on bed rest with 11 children.

  38. Praying for you all from Suva, Fiji, South Pacific

  39. Jaynee,
I was already in tears reading the first part...then I read of the wonderful ultrasound results. I too have had miscarriages and have always ended up on bedrest with each pregnancy. I know you will tweak the schedule and God will see you through this time. It will all be worth the change when the new little one arrives. Please keep us posted.

  40. Dear ones,
I am praying for you and your family. Thanks so much for sharing this prayer need and also your faith with us all.
We will be praying that everyone will receive strength to carry on the daily activities. I wish I was closer to you to help out. But I can pray.
BTW if you have time I host a meme on Wednesday called More than a Friend. It's purpose is to share about the wonderful friends that God puts into our lives. Come by if you can and check it out. Maybe it will brighten your day.
I am praying for you all now.

  41. Yuck! Jaynee, I feel your boredom. I had the *exact* same thing with Dippy and I hated being on bedrest. He was just fine, tho.

And I wish we *could* come and visit. I know Jess and Charley would love to come, too (me and jess absolutely love you!); I'd make a huge vat of chicken curry for us all, and Jess could bring the SkipBo. We'd have hours of fun... unless Jess loses. Whoa Nellie does that girl get mad when she loses at SkipBo.

    Hang in there!

  42. Jaynee, I will keep you in prayer. God has a very special work for you. Your spirit encourages me so much! What a blessing you are.

  43. We'll be praying for you and your precious little one! You have a beautiful family!! I have just found your blog this evening.

I have eight little ones, 12 and under. Five are by birth and three are chosen by adoption.

  44. Dear Jaynee,

God is so good. I am thankful to hear that little one is perfect. I will keep you, your family and that precious little one in my prayers. Please keep us updated on what to pray for specifically.

  45. We will be praying for you and your baby.

    Mrs. T (South Africa)

  46. Just want to let you know that my family will be praying for your safe delivery, and GOD's continued provision. He is able!
