C-Section question from Karen

More questions answered :) I'm working my way through them, so if you've asked us something and haven't seen a response, thank you for your patience! :)

Karen asked: I have a question about your amazing c-section recovery...how do you do it? Also, do c-sections get "easier" the more you have?

Answer: I just thank the Lord for giving me the strength and healing that He did. The first few days were difficult as I would have loved to be relaxing in bed, cuddling with Eliseo, and letting my other children "take care of mommy" :) But the Lord was gracious and I'm very thankful that after the first week, I really didn't feel too sore anymore.
I can only answer from my experience of course, but my first c-section was the most difficult and painful. I have heard that this is the case, and my second one was remarkably easier (so to speak :) ). And the third one was about like the second.

  1. I'm with Jaynee on this one. I've had 5 c-sections so far and the recoveries get MUCH easier! The key (to me) is while in the hospital and under "good" medicine, GET MOVING! Not to push yourself too much and cause your recovery to be longer, but just get up and move slow. I even use less pain medicine after I'm home just by taking it easy, but still making sure I move often. I'm fortunate to have THE MOST AWESOME OB-GYN I know! He prays with us before we go in to have the baby, you can't ask for better than that!

I am so blessed by your blog! You are such an inspiration to me!! I have been reading much of (all of!) Steve and Teri Maxwell's books...thank you for the recommendation in a past entry! When you have time, can you post some more titles that have helped you with home management and organization?
